It's almost exactly the same - it is a phone ticket, it's just a different way of presenting it to the reader (QR code that you put in the reader last year, but just a contactless wave with NFC). I assume that in the days leading up to each match the ticket will appear in your wallet, similar to last year but without having to save it yourself.

The Club won't care (or know) who the phone belongs to, so yes you'll be able to save the ticket to that. I'm assuming - I'm not privvy to any info here - but it will be that way.

Everything will be NFC tickets before long - some England games have been since 2019.

I saw that, I just didn't think it was right. Seems to have been written by a clown.

Re: NFC tickets
This is what is on the club website FAQ's re ticket sharing:-

Ticket Share and Digital Ticketing

How are Ticket Forwarding tickets issued?

All tickets gifted via Ticket Forwarding must be accepted by the intended recipient or else they will not be valid for use on matchday.

Once a ticket has been accepted, the original ticket will be removed from the Season Ticket Holder's digital pass. It will instead be reissued as a digital ticket to the intended recipient via their registered email address.

Even if the recipient already has their own pass, all Ticket Forwarding tickets will still be issued as digital tickets.

No mention of selling out!

"Once each game sells out, the Ticketing Forwarding feature will become active at the Clubs discretion"

That what it says. They may know how football works, but if so that is a helluva misprint.

Re: NFC tickets
By them one each you tight cunt :-)

But seriously can it not be downloaded to more than device, says if you accidentally delete can be reinstalled from email. May be that you have to delete from one first?

Or maybe can put both on yours?

I have an ST and my two girls share a second one. How does that work?

Yes I have spoken about it before but I assumed they were going carry on as last season with phone tickets and paper options.

Is this new phone system the same as the phone system last year but with a season long ticket?

My wife has a compatible iphone can I send the ticket to that and use that on matchdays?

Re: NFC tickets
This isn't based on any knowledge, I'm just assuming - but I'm sure you'll still be able to pass tickets on without it being sold out (like you can now). They know that's how football works - although because of the law I'm pretty sure it'll have to be done electronically so they know (at least officially) who is in the ground.

1964 2:56 Fri Jul 22

Sincere apologies if I'm wrong, but I feel certain that you've been on here unhappy with this before - if that's you, then you knew NFC was on the way. That aside, it says in the e-mail that they'll cater for those without smartphones.

Re: NFC tickets
1964 - You can get a card from the club.

That's out of fucking order.. So can only gift if sold out..

What's to stop more than one device downloading the ticket?

Re: NFC tickets
It's a shit show.

I havent got a compatible smartphone and I have no intention of buying one.

If I'd known they were going to cease paper tickets I wouldn't have bought a ST.

Re: NFC tickets
Also concerned about passing tickets on, as i will be on holiday in August, so having a search and found this on the Website.

Ticket Forwarding:
The Club have facilitated a Ticket Forwarding system available to Season Ticket Holders and Claret members who wish to gift their match ticket to a friend or family member if they are unable to attend the game. Once each game sells out, the Ticketing Forwarding feature will become active at the Clubs discretion, in the lead up to the match, and announced on the Club website.

So tickets can't be forwarded until the game has sold out? That is going to piss a lot of people off. I know plenty of people who share season tickets. Looks like they are going to have to share phones from now on.

Re: NFC tickets
Either way I'm sure the first 5 or so games will be an absolute shit show with massive queues to get through the turnstiles, just like last season was.

Email says if you’ve got more than one account on the same email address then you will be sent more than one link.

Re: NFC tickets
Ah, maybe it works like the AXS app with transferring tickets then. I did that with a ticket for something a few weeks ago. It was dead easy actually. You just have to enter the email address of who you are gifting it to and then they get an email to receive it. They do have to have the app downloaded to be able to do it, then you get a notification when you do and it shows up on their phone.

Re: NFC tickets
Just found the below on os, so you can forward them. Just no instructions as to how you do it, so I'm presuming maybe in Google play or on the eticket site once they're issued.

Re: NFC tickets
Let's hope you can gift your ticket.

We have a group and regualarly have a spare or two and because our season tickets are the cheap ones we often just give our tickets to friends.

Sometimes to friends who take their kids and it just makes it a bit more affordable for them not having to pay for a ticket.

Does anyone know how ticket forwarding works, says you can gift your ticket.

Re: NFC tickets
Like most things they do it's as clear as mud- agreed!

From looking at other somewhat more helpful online resources, it looks like you can store two tickets on one phone, at least, although possibly two at a maximum.

Re: NFC tickets
Says NFC but then when you go in to the how to guide it says.

. On approach to your Turnstile and Entrance, locate your ticket held within your Apple Wallet or G Pay app. At the turnstile your phone should be held, screen up, over the contactless reader. You may also scan the barcode shown on your ticket under the barcode reader.

Crystal clear eh

Your Dad can also get a photo pass
